INFORMATION :

A Cook focuses on food preparation, follows recipes, and maintains kitchen cleanliness, usually working under a Chef. A Chef leads the kitchen team, creates menus, manages operations, and ensures food quality. Chefs have more experience, leadership, and creativity in the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook dishes according to recipes and quality standards.
  • Develop and refine menu items or execute menu plans.
  • Ensure food consistency, taste, and presentation meet high standards.
  • Maintain kitchen hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety compliance (HACCP preferred).
  • Manage kitchen inventory, stock control, and minimize waste.
  • Train and supervise kitchen staff/cook helper or assist senior kitchen staff.
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while ensuring smooth service.

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a restaurant or hotel kitchen.
  • Strong culinary skills with knowledge of local/international cuisine.
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and multitask effectively.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Willingness to stay and work in Gili Air.
